I enjoy learning far beyond my formal coursework. During my DMS at SIM, I maintained a high GPA, led group projects, built my own learning platform and gained early exposure to real business projects and negotiations.

Outside academics, I take part in volunteer projects because I want to use what I have learned and what I am good at to help others in practical ways. I also have a wide range of personal interests, including karting, photography, stargazing, music, films, Chinese calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and writing. I have also taken courses from the United Nations and Amnesty International to learn more about global and social issues beyond my degree.

I’m usually pretty quiet when you first meet me, but once I get comfortable, a much more playful, talkative side of me comes out. I’m also an animal lover and have taken in four stray cats over the years.

What does photography give me?＋

Photography is the most important anchor in my life. The world may not be perfect, but the moment I pick up my camera and look through the viewfinder, I feel from the bottom of my heart that the world is magnificent and radiant. Although I do not yet possess exceptional technical skills, I am striving to express the world as I see it through the medium of photography.

When everything clicks—when the machine and I feel like one, when the world outside my helmet disappears and all I can hear is the engine, and when I stop consciously telling the kart what to do and begin to brake, turn, accelerate and overtake on instinct—I enter a state of total focus and complete ease at the same time. My body feels weightless, the feeling keeps rising, and for a moment it is as if I am flying. That is the feeling I chase every time I go out on track, because it makes me profoundly happy; I often feel as though I was born to race, and that is how deeply I love it.

There are many reasons: sheer enjoyment, a desire to escape reality, a love for the stories and characters, a love for storytelling itself... it is a complex mix of feelings.

I cherish the emotions and reflections that movies evoke in me. Whether a film makes me laugh heartily or weep openly, I feel at ease; it brings me a sense of release and inner peace. Movies allow me to view the world from diverse perspectives, experience lives unlike my own, and resonate with the emotions of others.

On screen, I encounter people I could never become and witness deeds I could never perform. They love openly and live passionately; they sing aloud across vast landscapes and sprint through a hail of gunfire. Yet, as I sit in my chair, watching them intently, it feels as though I have lived a lifetime alongside them.

Perhaps, as time passes, the specific details and plot points of the movies I’ve watched will gradually fade from my memory, but I will never forget the feelings and the deep emotional impact they left on me.

I think I will keep watching them, always.

Study Studio

In March 2026, I created Study Studio, a long-term personal learning platform specifically designed for courses that require extensive memorisation. Rather than being built for a single semester, the platform allows me to continuously add new learning materials, organise them by course and topic, and gradually build an expanding personal question bank.

I designed the memorisation process in three stages: Keywords, Bullet Points, and Full Expression. Lengthy notes can be broken down into individual recall questions, with answers hidden during practice and keyword hints available when needed. After each question, I can assess my own level of mastery by marking it as Forgotten, Not Yet Familiar, or Fully Mastered, allowing weaker questions to return for repeated review instead of treating every item equally.

Study Studio also includes a Daily Study Mode, which generates a structured revision plan leading up to the exam, as well as a Mock Exam Mode, which randomly selects questions according to a chosen exam length and requires me to retrieve and write answers entirely from memory. I can browse and search the full question bank, review specific courses or topics, track completed practice, and continuously add new material as my studies progress. An exam countdown is also integrated into the platform so that I can organise revision around a clear deadline.

Study Studio became one of my main learning tools during DMS. With its support, I achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0/4.0 in my fifth semester, which contained some of the most memorisation-intensive courses in my DMS programme.

AF Command Center

In June 2026, after completing my Diploma programme, I entered a four-month break before beginning my Accounting and Finance studies at the University of Birmingham. I did not want this valuable period to simply pass by. I wanted to use it strategically to strengthen my academic foundation, explore professional qualifications, develop practical skills, and enter the next stage of my studies with greater confidence. The challenge was that all these goals existed separately in my mind, without a clear framework showing what I should prioritise, how different learning paths connected, or how I should use each month.

To address this, I created the AF Command Center, a personal planning system that brings my academic development, professional preparation, and long-term goals into one structured workspace. I developed a four-month plan, dividing the break into clear phases with specific priorities and tasks for each stage. The platform also contains separate sections for my University of Birmingham modules, CFA learning pathway, and ACCA qualification pathway. By placing them side by side, I can compare their syllabuses, identify overlapping topics and differences, and plan how my university studies can support my preparation for professional qualifications at the same time.

Instead of repeatedly searching through different syllabuses, textbooks, websites, and online courses, I can organise relevant learning materials directly alongside each subject and qualification. I can see what I have completed, what I am currently working on, and what should come next. The system is not limited to my four-month break; I designed it to continue expanding as I progress through university, pursue new qualifications, develop new skills, and refine my future career plans.

However, I did not want the platform to represent only the academic side of my life. I therefore created a separate Life Module for thoughts, plans, and fleeting ideas that would otherwise remain scattered in my mind. I use it to record spontaneous ideas, daily plans, anxieties, problems I am trying to solve, and small moments that make me particularly happy. I also keep a personal dream list there, ranging from larger ambitions such as skydiving in Hainan or diving in the Maldives to small experiences I simply want to remember or pursue one day.

AF Command Center therefore became more than a study planning tool. It helped me turn four months of unstructured time into deliberate preparation for the next stage of my education, while also becoming a private digital space where I can organise the academic plans, ambitions, thoughts, and personal fragments that make up my life.

ConnectPlus · TBB Programme

ConnectPlus is committed to breaking down educational barriers and providing inclusive English learning opportunities for everyone—including learners with special learning needs. Its TBB (Tangbaobao) project is specially designed for children with intellectual disabilities, providing systematic and easy-to-understand introductory English teaching to help children use language to communicate, explore, and establish connections with the wider world.

I firmly believe that education has never been a privilege for a few, but an opportunity that every child deserves. Learning differences should not determine whether a child has the right to learn, grow, and explore his or her potential. In my opinion, educational equity does not mean allowing all learners to learn the exact same content in exactly the same way; it means recognizing that some learners need more time, repeated practice, continuous encouragement or adapted teaching methods, and ensuring that these differences do not hinder their participation in learning. It is with this philosophy in mind that I applied to join the TBB volunteer tutoring program.

After passing the volunteer interview and completing pre-service training, I was qualified to tutor A1–A2 beginner-level learners. My job includes using TBB official textbooks to conduct 45-minute one-to-one online lessons, and flexibly adjusting the teaching pace and explanation methods according to each learner's situation. After each class, I will write personalized classroom feedback and compile a supporting vocabulary list to help learners continue to consolidate and steadily improve.

This will be my first formal teaching experience, so I am inevitably a little nervous. This new responsibility also brings real challenges: being able to understand knowledge and helping others understand knowledge are completely different things, especially for learners who require more patience, repeated guidance and differentiated instruction.

In the process of preparing for my students, I hope to create a relaxed and secure classroom atmosphere so that they dare to ask questions, are not afraid of making mistakes, and grow at their own pace. For me, inclusive education is implemented in the subtleties: ensuring that no child is isolated from learning just because of different learning modes or cognitive characteristics. I look forward to using this project to transform my belief in educational equity into patient, one-to-one practical action, while at the same time exploring my own abilities and achieving self-growth in the process of serving others.

Amu4her

Amu4her is a youth-led nonprofit working to break the stigma around periods. I created three illustrated cards for them: one about menarche, one about menstrual cramps and self-care, and one about coping with menstruation at school.

I still remember my own first period. Seeing so much blood frightened me, and for a moment I thought something was wrong with my body. That experience made me understand how unfamiliar and overwhelming menstruation can feel for a girl in primary or secondary school who is experiencing it for the first time. I wanted to contribute in a small way by making that moment feel a little less frightening and a little less lonely.

For this reason, I wanted the language on the cards to feel like a friendly chat with an older sister rather than a rigid, distant textbook, using vocabulary that young children could easily understand, a caring tone, and warm visual elements. I hoped the girls would not feel embarrassed or overwhelmed, but instead feel that someone they had never met still cared about what they were going through. The cards have been completed and submitted.

Life Letters

Life Letters invites people to write anonymously about mental-health struggles they have endured or are still experiencing. By sharing these accounts, the project seeks to validate other people's experiences, reduce stigma and remind readers facing similar difficulties that they are not alone.

I wrote and submitted ten anonymous letters grounded in lived experience. The work required honesty, sensitivity and careful judgement: each letter needed to feel personal enough to offer recognition while remaining responsible toward readers who may be vulnerable.

Grand Canyon Oral History Project

In progress

I was invited to participate in the transcription work for the Grand Canyon Oral History Archive, transforming recorded interviews into accurate and understandable written transcripts. This work requires careful listening, meticulous verification, and respect for the speaker's original intent, especially when reviewing automated transcripts, as even minor errors can easily distort names, places, memories, or context.

I have always been interested in history, but what attracts me most is not history itself—a list of dates and events—but the history remembered and told by those who experienced it. Listening to others recount an experience in their own voice creates a sense of immersion that textbooks often cannot replicate. Oral history preserves not only the events themselves but also how people understand, remember, and interpret them.

This is precisely why this project is so meaningful to me. Transcription may seem like a quiet, technical task, but it is also an act of preserving history. Every carefully verified name, every revised word, and every faithfully recorded memory ensures that an individual's voice is not lost in the process of transforming oral recollections into a permanent historical record. This requires patience, restraint, and the willingness to listen repeatedly rather than speculate.

My first assignment—the Helen Ingram Interview (Part One)—is currently being transcribed. Once completed, it will undergo an accuracy review and may be included in the Grand Canyon National Park Museum's collection and the project's oral history archive. For me, the value of this work lies in the fact that even a small contribution can help preserve vivid life experiences, allowing personal memories to be preserved as part of a broader historical record.

Florida Youth At Risk

Florida Youth At Risk (FYAR) is a nonprofit organisation that supports young people aged 12–25 through music, performing arts, mentorship and workforce development. Its programmes combine creative opportunities with practical learning in financial literacy, mental wellness and career readiness.

As Marketing Coordinator, I will support and coordinate marketing initiatives across FYAR's digital platforms. The role involves planning, creating and scheduling content to increase awareness and engagement; tracking performance and translating engagement data into campaign insights; and collaborating with the marketing team to keep messaging, branding, organisational voice and visual identity consistent. I will also assist with email campaigns, promotional materials and event announcements. I am currently completing the onboarding process.
